CERTAINLY, seeing which three drivers get to stand on the podium is the ultimate goal of watching a grand prix. But a Formula 1 race weekend, especially the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, is an experience offering more than that. The 2019 edition of this spectacle promises to do even more.

Yes, the grand prix is still some five months away — the Singapore GP is scheduled on September 20-22 — but preparations are now underway for what is billed in the Formula 1 calendar as the “ultimate night race experience.”

One of the attractions lined up this year is The Cube, an elevated hospitality suite where an air-conditioned indoor bar called Patio is located on the first level. Here, guests will be treated to free-flowing Taittinger Champagne, premium spirits, fine wines, beers, sodas and an assortment of canapés.

The Cube’s Mezzanine on level 2 and its Loft on the top level allow the best views of the Padang Stage. This means guests get prime spots on which to watch live performances of Swedish House Mafia on September 20, Muse and Cardi B on September 21, and Fat Boy Slim and Red Hot Chili Peppers on September 22, right after the race.

Patrons of the Cube will also get access to all four zones of Singapore’s Marina Bay Circuit through viewing platforms strategically erected around the track. Another viewing platform placed just 350 meters from the Cube, near turns 11 and 12, will let them watch the race cars as these make their way across the iconic Anderson bridge. Plus, guests can enjoy all the entertainment acts on other stages — The Wharf Stage, Downtown, Sunset Stage, Uptown and Esplanade Outdoor Theatre — across all four zones, too.

Tickets to the Cube are available for a single-day access, or in a three-day set. Prices range between S$750 for a Friday – Patio ticket and S$3,500 for a three-day Patio hospitality ticket. The Cube is open starting at 6 p.m. and will close at the end of the concert at the Padang stage.
