Hublot Celebrates Ferrari’s 70 Years of Prancing

Seventy Years of Prancing

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Ferrari. On this momentous occasion, the Italian sports car maker celebrated this milestone in Maranello last September 9, 2017.

As a partner with Ferrari for the past five years, Swiss watchmaker Hublot was invited to the event. To commemorate the event and to celebrate their five fruitful years of partnership, Hublot developed a limited edition watch 0 the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph.

This 45 mm King Gold case features a skeleton middle case made from uni-directional carbon, a multi-layer hypoallergenic material. This open design allows the viewer to catch a glimpse of the ruthenium anthracite finish. The engine of this watch is the HUB6311, a manual winding tourbillon chronograph developed and manufactured by Hublot. It contains 253 components and beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has an amazing power reserve of 115 hours.

This watch was designed in collaboration with the Ferrari’s in-house team of designers, Centro Stile. The design process taken to create this watch was similar to how the car designers design their cars, starting from the engine. And in designing the chassis, or the case of the watch, every effort and expertise was put into the design to make it lightweight yet solid in construction, much like that of Ferrari’s sports cars.

The celebration at Maranello included an auction, headed by Sotheby’s, where Ferrari cars and paraphernalia were sold. Included in the lots was the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph. All proceeds of the auction went to Save the Children.
